Worrying VS Living

People, do you know how fortunate you are?

Firstly to be able to surf internet to read this blog, this had already made you among the largest population of fortunate people.

Secondly, sadly among the fortunate people in this WORLD. Only a few handful realised that they ARE fortunate. The rest? Unknowingly by the pressures and daily stresses to make ends meet, they DEEMED themselves as SAD people.

*****

I've never really started reading again since my Poly days.. I had been an avid book lover since young... thats why I was short-sighted since primary 3.. Oh well. Due to poor reading habits I guess.

Until lately someone gave me a book. Well, again I do appreciate it. Just that taking the first step again to read... after such a long break, its HARD to just open just the cover itself. hahaha.. now you know Orange can be really LAZY ah?

Well. After saying goodbye to booney on a saturday night for her flight, I told myself I'll work hard to clear this semester. When I finally 'checked in' to my comfy zone on sunday afternoon, I was about to clear the piles on things on my table and I fou.nd myself looking up. Goodness gracious. Staring at this book written by Dale Carnegie. How to Stop Worrying and Start Living. I wasn't at all really into the reading mood at that instant. But somehow my hand reached out for it.

That was it. It soon became my daily dose of vitamin C. Hahaha.. funny right. OMG!!! Everything made WHOLE LOT sense to me in the book. Every word, every page... has its impact on me. Now, I do have to remind you people that I never really thought that I'll venture into this kind of self-help books. Never have I thought that I can really apply it into my daily life. Its been clearly amazing on how much the book has been helping me.

Well, of course there might be times when I failed to control certain worries on hand but the fact that we always have worries around, we'll never fall short of trying constantly having to improve our handling skills in worries and emerge out as a stronger individual.

Now, quoting from Dale Carnegie's book:

'I had the blues because I had no shoes,
Until upon the street, I met a man who had no feet. '

Oh boy, I was super guilty of this. Very in fact. I worry about all the things under the sun, moon and stars. Hurhur... well. As written from his book, about 90% of the things in our lives are right and about 10% are wrong. If we want to be happy, all we have to do is to concentrate on the 90% that are right and ignore the 10% that are wrong. - Here, its not saying that you don't learn from mistakes but if you are filled with depression and worries, focusing on the wrong won't help you in the least bit to learn and pick up yourself. You got to handle your emotions well and learn well from the mistakes and the first step to handle emotions well is to focus on the rights.

Truely and well said. Now before Orange leaves bloggie, let me leave you with one of notes from Dale Carnegie:

Count your blessings - not your troubles!
