Orange IS BACK!

Back from a good and fulfilling trip.

what can Orange say?

Hahas.. out of my 24 years of living... I've never, really experience.. what I just did, in this one week break.

The people, the feelings, the atmosphere.. the place.
Food is definitely part of it too.. hahas. But there is more to it.
Orange will post the pictures up asap when all the travelling clothes are washed and when she clears her sleeping debts.

First Hand Experience:
1. Living under one roof with a hairy dog (and i mean really hairy..)
2. Eating reunion dinner with a warm family + 1 friendly dog
3. Having outfield trips all planned for and being chaffeured back and forth
4. Entering a village, meeting more relatives, chit chat, sit back.. relax in cooling environment with mountainous view and with own farm chickens, self-grown vegetables, radishes, tomatoes...
5. Speaking and learning cantonese in a 'always conducive' environment
6. Eating village self-made chinese new year specialities
7. Eating authentic cantonese dishes
8. Swimming at natural hotsprings with an environment temperature of 18 - 20 Degrees Celsius

Its really a nice trip for me. ^^ Orange will definitely be making her way back to GuangZhou in July. And... YES.

Daddy shall come with me. I feel very strongly that knowing one's roots is important and knowing it and not making time for it is JUST == Not knowing it.

now that i finally gotten the actual address of my 'house' in GZ, I really wanna go and see it and experience it. I am proud to be a Singaporean and will feel more proud of the fact that I know my roots.

Great learning experience for me too. I've been dodging many things in life... many a times God just place things right smack in my path... time after time to mould my character. Different areas in my life, some.. I've already surrendered and really, its not easy. And God doesn't reveal all the areas that He wants you to change AT ONE time. He ensures that what you are facing is what you can take.. within your ability.. and not beyond your ability. After one such experience and you changed for the better, more challenges will come along to change your other areas. This moulding process I can definitely see it taking place in my life and it takes more than just courage to accept this.

I wanna say T H A N K S to Ting Ting, who made this trip possible for me, with her relatives so warmly welcomed both of us and took care of us so well.. I feel like as if they were my own relatives!

Kan Gua Ay Chiu

I sang this song for her.

I remember her as a fine lady who always love to cook. She cooks well for her family, comes to church every sunday and always smile at me with warmness in her eyes.

Today I learnt of the news. I cried.
My heart although greatly saddened, I know for sure that she is safe with the Lord.

She came to me before my NTU semestrial exams, present before me a few pieces of song sheets wrapped together carefully in a scroll. She asked me to sing some chinese/hokkien christian songs. I was stunned because I never thought of singing worship songs to God in Hokkien.

I was caught up with many things and didn't really remember much about it for the next few weeks. Then when I was supposed to lead worship for one of the sundays during my exam period, I fell ill. I couldn't deliver the promise I had with her. All the way until my GIP China trip was drawing nearer and nearer. I remembered this promise and it was always at the back of my head. Finally... I chose to sing it during New Year's Eve, during watch night service. I went on to practice the song. It was totally difficult at first.. but then it became easier and easier for me. However, the night service.. it was too late in the night and she had to rest early so she didn't come.

I left 1 more last sunday before my GIP China trip.
I decided to make it a song dedication to the church, especially for her in mind.
Finally I sang it for her.

Now when I thought about it, I am really thankful to God for giving me the chance to sing for her. She is this granny that has a special place in God's heart and she is with Him now. I know that God has his plans all laid out.

Now I'm right in Beijing to do another of His plan to serve and help out in the church here.
I know He is in charge of yesterday, today and your tomorrow.

Let us seize every opportunity that God has provided for you to serve Him.
I'm glad that I did and I pray for myself and everyone, that we will keep moving towards God and never let our selfish desires be the stumbling block in serving Him.
With God setting your focus, live a life with no regrets.

BJ A.t.m.o.s.p.h.e.r.e.

Missed orange ya?

Heh. OH well. orange did some drinking recently with housemates.. working colleagues.. due to CNY office department dinner.. and all.
Realised i like the beer here. heh.. its cooling. less the peanuts.. orange now feel so ZZZ typing all these..

Recently...orange has been really tired for many things. Somethings i don't feel like elaborating.. but I'll just commit it to God's hands. I'm super helpless abt it and can't do much at all. Worrying and panicking abt such things.. I'm really tired. I'm pretty confident that our Abba Father up there sees and knows it.

I know this Big Daddy loves me and He will provide for my worries and needs. I wish for my break to come soon.. which will come really soon and I'm counting down for it... (17 Feb to 25 Feb - CNY Holiday) I thank God for my Visa and $$ and travelling partner(Ting Ting) that my travelling can be possible!

CNY is a BIG event in BJ... I would love to play with fireworks.. in fact, seeing and hearing fireworks released, is a DAILY event thingy here.. since the 1st day i stepped into BJ.. ITS SO COMMON!!!

I hope all my GELLERS are doing WELL in SPORE!
Continue to serve the Lord be it in Music Ministry or other ministries. The Lord will honour your faith in Him. If one day u really feel lonely and don't feel God around u, close ur eyes.. listen to the surroundings.
orange tell u... u are not alone.

May the Lord bless all of you studying in school... Don't be lazy and skip lessons oKay... ^^
For every step and effort u make, commit it to the Lord. He will lead and guide u. Don't feel discouraged when what u want is not what u have. Let things flow in God's timing. Let Him be the one to lead and not you telling Him what to do. Remember that we are here in this world not for our worldly desires but to do God's Will and His purpose.

orange has her prayer request AGAIN:

1. Pray that SAF preferred list will have Tsinghua University in March so I can have some overseas maintenence allowance to offset my expenditure in BJ.

2. Pray for protection and well-being of body during travelling to GZ and HK. My travelling details are 17 Feb FLY to GZ, 22 Feb take ferry to HK, 25 Feb take train back GZ and then FLY back BJ.

3. Pray for Safety of BJ house.. cos on holiday.

yesterday evening I passed the bakery near my place.. I couldn't resist it..
The chocolate cake really look nice.
Hahas.. guess wat. I bought a slice of dARk Chocolate Cake.
hehe... And now its in my stomach. ^^

OH.. and u know wat... The beer here is super cheap. Tsingtao Beer is not bad!
OH.. and u know wat... the Magnum here is cheap.. and I bought it too!

Hahas.. Celine gonna laugh at me.. but Orange really fallen in love with dARk Choco..

Orange PiCHa!

Did my Visa on Saturday.. Extended it to 16 July 2006 this time! Hahas...


But it wasn't a smooth sailing process... Thank God that He made it possible thAT I can get it done... *relieved*

Its really almost impossible to happen and i can say its really another miracle.


You see.. one of my documents has to be the company's license (photocopy). How can I possibly bring the original one with me to make my visa? The first counter I spoke to, the lady was a argh. She simply refused to hear my side of story... i tried to explain that I'm a student intern here.. not an employee.. I can't take the company's license from office just like tat.. she is.. AHH..CRAP.

I moved on to another counter. This time, the lady at first refused. Then upon further listening to my side of story, she finally AGREED. ^^





Its really not easy... after all the LONG Q and stuff.. filling up the forms.. getting ready all the necessary documents to apply the visa.. and having the time to go there... =.=" Orange can't just take NO for an answer! I have to be persistant!





Then the lady saw my company's letter.. she said I can't apply for multiple entry. She will only give me 2 Entries. I told her my travelling plans whether 2 times of entries is enough, she said 'YES'. Hahas.. thats all I need to hear. ^^





Then she said she will extend my visa only up to 6 July.. -.-"


I look up to her with my 'innocent' eyes... and I say the word.."PLEASE"..


I said can I extend to 16 July? Cos I need to go Tibet after my attachment...


In the end she said OK! She will give me up to 16 July... and No more...


Hahahahahs... YEAH!

Okies.. Thats just one of the miracle that I listed out.. hahas.. God is really... always around.


One thing I think I know y I don't really feel him in Spore... cos in Spore.. I have everything.


There wasn't really a need for God when we have everything.

Emotional Involvement with God - February 04, 2007

Ever have difficulty getting acquainted with certain folks? Somehow they seem cold
to you. When you try to open up to them, they do not open up to you. A relationship
therefore never develops. Paul experienced the same thing with a church. "O
Corinthians, our heart is open wide. You are not restrained by us, but you are restrained by
your own affections" (2 Corinthians 6:11-12). Paul was emotionally involved with
this church. He had gone through many trials so they would hear the gospel. The
Corinthians, however, were cool toward Paul. They were holding their emotions in check.

God often gets the same cool reception from each of us. Moses said of God's people,
"The Lord set His affection to love them" (Deuteronomy 10:15). The people did not
reciprocate. They refused to become emotionally involved with God. As a result, Moses
admonished the people, "Circumcise then your heart, and stiffen your neck no more"
(Deuteronomy 10:16).

These people had a heart problem. We often have the very same heart problem today.
We get emotionally involved with basketball, baseball, and football. Will we get
emotionally involved with God? Not on a bet. A cold shoulder irritates us. It saddens
God. He says, "An ox knows its owner, and a donkey its master's manger, but Israel
does not know, My people do not understand" (Isaiah 1:3).

Last Sunday at BIGGEST IKEA

Orange is BACK!

YAHOOOOOOoooooooo!!!

Tmr no need to work cos is Company's Annual Lunch... Good FOOD. GOOD place.

But we interns are not invited. =.="

I guess..they wanna save cost?

Whatever... its gonna be FREE DAY for me. But don't be too happy.. today at 4.45pm (15 mins to free gangway) My boss suddenly come to tell me (in Chinese):

Boss: Hey Shiyi.. you know u tmr can sleep later? (:
Me: Hahas.. yes.. I know.. but i'll be making my visa to multiple entry tmr..
Boss: I see... Good. So you know that we all will be back working on Sunday?
Me: .... ?!?!?

oh WELL...

Looks like its not a free day after all... its just a SWITCH. =.=

RIGHT. So God.. Orange can't play guitar for them this Sunday. Means only one pianist.
Orange view this as a wonderful opportunity for Qin Qing to play the keyboard by herself. I pray that she will use this chance to improve her confidence in playing for them. ^^

YUP. Last Sunday Orange went with Elizabeth to IKEA!!! At first not going anywhere after church.. cos Orange wake up super early on Sunday.. so no time to wash clothes.. thats y planning to go back to wash clothes after service. Heh.. then nice Ting ting found out that there's a shuttle bus that will bring us straight to IKEA. So fang bian... so nice orange got nice ting ting to wash + dry her clothes.. So Orange can go straight to shopping after service with her! ^^
