Breaks During Study

State: Content

Guess what.
The business babes came over to my territory for a brunch and they got me along. Not bad ah. They actually know I'm in my room. All three of them are so hardworking. Well done. I like it. Good team spirit.. or rather its SCHOOL WORK so they got no choice.

Haha. I'm glad that they will be done with their projects soon and they can finally OH NO study for exams. Join the majority zombies gang. We are cool. We can sleep without eating and eat without sleeping.. er.. I meant first case.

The flesh is weak but mind is strong.

State: Outrage

I don't understand why is it that some idiotic angkukuehs can sing karaoke during afternoon. It damn piss me off when its some language I don't really understand and they can blast the music like nobody's business. oh GET A LIFE will you? Its the exams period.

If you don't have any exams, the least thing you can do is to SHUT UP. Yeah. You want me to mind my own business... you jolly well make sure you pack up your karaoke system. Don't push your luck because you know you can't.

Bad Afternoon News

The body of a baby boy has been found at the rubbish collection centre behind Blk 29 Havelock Road. Cleaners found the baby in one of the rubbish carts at around 9am on Wednesday. The body, apparently that of a newborn, was wrapped in a blue towel. It bore no traces of blood. Police are investigating the case.

Why are people so damn cruel. Why do such things and create social problems?
Whoever the person who did this. I really don't respect you and I seriously doubt if you are a human or your mentality is normal.

If the baby had died during birth under unforeseen circumstances, are you sure this is the only way to clear the place?

If it was an unwanted baby in the first place, why wait until its time to give birth and do such thing? I'm not trying to support abortion here but do you think this way of doing things is better than abortion?

If this was done by both underage kids, I'm very sure you kids will bear this guilt forever. If you can't abstain yourself from having sex, there is such a thing called safe sex. If you can't satisfy yourself from safe sex or somethings just went wrong and the female end up getting pregnant, there are still many ways to solve this problem.

It is not the end of the world. Jesus won't come back again just because you are pregnant. Since you got a problem here, solve it. If you can't solve it alone, get someone. There are alot of helplines available for females. And you are not alone. There are hell lots of women out there who are facing this same damn problem right till this second.

If the guy happened to be someone of legal age and you think what's done was rightfully ok, one day you will get it, @$$hole.

People. We are humans. We are of a certain degree certainly higher than animals. Don't downgrade humanity or yourself. If you are born with a sound mind and abled body, use your abilities and skills wisely. It irks walkergal to see people trying to play God.

Although I'm not perfect either, this involved a life. A precious life. How do you view your life?

I have nothing to say if this is done by a mental illness stickened patient. I hope more people will do their part to protect humanity.

Life ain't just eat, fun, sex, sleep. Crap. GET A LIFE.

Morning Rants

I'm seriously disgusted by this sneaking newspapers stealer. To think that this is an all-girls corridor and its saddening to know that the person is a girl. Don't let me find out that its actually done by a guy. Argh.. Male or female.. your behaviour is damn sickeningly condemned by walkergal!

Here's a freshly baked news I got off the net:

Singaporeans will get to learn more about their heritage in a fun way in a month-long effort jointly led by the National Heritage Board, National Library Board and Media Development Authority. Explore Singapore! 2007 with the tagline "Discover More", will feature 86 activities at 20 museums island-wide. Set to run from November 10 to December 31, the aim of Explore Singapore! 2007 is to make heritage and museums more fun an appealing to seniors, families and children.

"We want to give Singaporeans especially the young children something extra to do in Singapore during this holiday season. Instead of going to the shopping centre or watching television, they can actually come down to the museum, and discover much about the heritage and when finding out about their heritage, discover a bit more about themselves," says Michael Koh, Chief Executive of NHB.

With most of the programmes tailored for the young, the museum-going culture could become inculcated in children at a young age. "This is a very important process because we are a young nation and we hope that all of us with our visit to the museums understand more about our own psyche as well as our multi-cultural heritage and identity," said the Chief Executive of NHB. Some of the activities aimed at the young include a photoblogging contest which would call for participants to showcase the human stories behind our heritage through pictures.

Another programme which is limited to 30 lucky children from 7-10 years old is a sleep-over at the Singapore Philatelic Museum with highlights such as a Treasure Hunt and a Bumboat Ride down the Singapore River. To cater to the man-on-the street, local actor and comedian Mark Lee has been appointed as the ambassador for Explore Singapore! 2007, a role which will see him conducting tours for the public with a dash of his distinct sense of humour. Lee hopes that with his ability to cater to both the English and Mandarin speaking crowd, he can get more people to enjoy heritage, culture and art in a contemporary setting.

Besides Mark Lee, the National Heritage Board will also rope in Singapore taxi drivers to act as ambassadors too as they can serve as a repository for travel information to tourists. To create awareness among taxi-drivers of the various museums in Singapore, there will be a Taxi-drivers' Open House. As the older generation may not have had the opportunity to enjoy all that's being offered by Singapore museums right now, the NHB is offering free entry to all NHB museums. Entrace fees for senior citizens will also be waived at the Singapore Science Centre and the Museum of Shanghai Toys from November 19 to 25. And if you can't take part in Explore Singapore! 2007 during the entire month, you can still try to be a part of the experience with a donation from your archives. That's because the National Library is calling on the public to donate a photograph, postcard, picture of illustration that captures the "Lost Memories" of Singapore before 1970.

I wished this had happened when I was a child. Sigh.. I wouldn't have turned out to hate history so much. Me ain't a saint.

Morns Mourns

State: Cold

After stepping out of LWN, I thought I just stepped out of mortuary. Every parts of the body was at a defrosed state.

Finally.. today was final lecture for Advanced Computer Networks. Sad. Its my favourite module.. just that for term 1 I was taught by a damn lousy lecturer.. I shall not comment on where he comes from.. And term 2 I got a fabulous lecturer who re-ignited my passion!!

oh. The Lemon and Herb Stepsils taste horrible. At first taste, one might think that washing detergent got into the mouth.

Early morning news.

Massive demand caused the Beijing Olympic ticketing system to collapse on Tuesday as a second phase of sales for people living in China got under way, officials said. More than 200,000 Internet ticket applications for next year's Games were submitted each second at some points on Tuesday, jamming the site, the Beijing Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (BOCOG) said in a statement.

The BOCOG website received eight million hits in the first hour of sales alone, the statement said. "The website and phone lines are jammed. Even I can't get through by phone to the ticketing centre," Wang Yue, a BOCOG spokeswoman, told AFP.

The official Xinhua news agency quoted the head of the Bank of China's Olympic affairs department, Xu Chen, as saying he was shocked by the huge demand. "We had tested the booking system several times, but the number of buyers has been out of our expectations," Xu said. Just over 1.8 million tickets for the Games went on sale on Tuesday to people living in China, following a hugely popular initial round in June that sold 1.6 million. China will eventually sell a total of seven million tickets for Games events over three phases, with about 75 percent going to residents of China and the rest to overseas buyers.

oh. How come nobody complained that their train ticketing system has problems too? I'm a really poor victim of it.

Missing Newspapers

State: Grumpy

is stealing the newspaper the IN thing now?

this morning Walkergal wanted to read NEWS on HARDCOPY and goodness gracious there ain't any newpapers on the lounge table. Not even the Classified Ads. I wonder which greedy pig had stolen it.

As usual, nothing stops Walkergal from getting the news. Here's some interesting news bytes under the sun, moon and stars:

Orchard Road, Singapore's main shopping belt, is set to be transformed under a S$40 million plan. The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) announced on Monday that works to rejuvenate the area will start in February next year.

Part of the rejuvenation plans is to expand pedestrian walkways and create Urban Green Rooms, which will be used for art exhibitions, mini performances or major events like the Chingay.

The Urban Green Rooms will be constructed at the existing lane along Orchard Road that faces ION Orchard, Wisma Atria and Meritus Mandarin Hotel. There will also be more greenery along the 2-kilometre Orchard Road. The whole stretch of area will be divided into three themes – flower theme in Tanglin Zone, forest theme at the Orchard Zone, and fruit theme at the Somerset Zone.

So. Singapore realised. Make way for the ARTS SCENE. Its heading RIGHT to you before you realised. Good news to the arty farties. As for those who doesn't know anything, its alright. Just stand at the side there.. yeah. Don't block the way.. just watch on.

A five-men engineering team from the Singapore Armed Forces returned home on Monday, after contributing to the reconstruction efforts in Bamiyan, a province in Afghanistan. The three-month long project was part of Singapore's overall contribution to the United Nation's humanitarian and reconstruction efforts.

The team had participated in a number of projects, including helping to build bridges in the villages of Monara and Chapdara, a drainage project at Regashet, and a water supply project at Bamiyan university. It also provided humanitarian assistance in community projects.
The SAF team was led by Lieutenant-Colonel Ong Chia Choong who said his troops have come home with invaluable experiences and memories. He said: "I think personally for me, the first thing is that we sometimes take some of the basic things we have in Singapore for granted. We're very lucky to be in Singapore, where the basic services of health and education are very comprehensive.

"I think the second thing is the fortitude of the people. We admire them, that despite the harsh conditions there, they continue to live the life that they have. They try to make the best of it."

ehlo. *raising both hands* Send me!! Send me!!

Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates are going up again for the third time this year.
There will also be new gantries erected.

The highest amount will be charged at the Pan Island Expressway (PIE). The gantry affected is the one at the slip road into the Central Expressway (CTE). From November 5, motorists will pay $3.50 from 7:30am to 8:00am. The amount charged goes up to $5.00 between 8:30am and 9:00am. This is a $1.50 increase in the 8:30am to 9:00am period since February this year.

ehlo. Here I am, desperately learning how to drive and there they are increasing the ERP rates. Very funny eh? Sigh. What to do. Singapore is so damn small. Just certain things that a Singaporean has to go through to enjoy on this tiny island.

The late morning downpour came unexpectedly. Nonetheless, it didn't affect me. No lessons in the morning.. what to do. Came across this super interesting video. ahem. well. Its themed for SINGAPOREANS ONLY. But I believe in SHARING one's talent.

Lousy Internet

State: Awake

Gastric juices churning. Burp! Excuse me.

Some afternoon news.

BUENOS AIRES : Argentina's first lady, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, claimed victory late Sunday in presidential elections held to choose a successor to her husband, outgoing President Nestor Kirchner. Fernandez, a 54-year-old senator who was the solid favourite going into the elections, told supporters in a speech broadcast live on television: "We have won by a large margin." A partial count showed the first lady with 43 percent of the vote, double that of her nearest rival, according to a tally of 12 percent of ballots on the official electoral agency website. That score, if maintained, will make her the outright victor of the election without the need for a runoff in November. With her husband on stage with her, applauding her words, Fernandez made special mention "of the man who is at my side today, and who has been my companion all my life," and blew him a kiss.

She also reminded her supporters of the work she, her husband and his administration have done for the country over the past four years, as it recovered from a 2001 economic crash. "Argentines were having a hard time just four years ago. Since May 25, 2003 (the start of Kirchner's mandate), we have come a long way," she said.

Interestingly, one certainly needs a good companion. Its not easy to get one who can be always by the side giving support. Sadly, there are either none or just blocks of wood around these days. Strangely, their presence have really.. sad to say but a matter-of-factly, minimal 'impact'.. or is 'presence' a better word to use? Well. you really can't fault people who just doesn't know what to do. But sometimes thinking about it, it just further re-emphasized the fact that together will be hard.. Now how does this term 'block of wood' come into my mind? I've constant feeds of it into me since young from the emperor.

So. What happens when the student doesn't have the heeren shop privilege card?

Standard Bullshit. Now how does 'bullshit' come into my mind? I've constant feeds of it into

Grossed News

State: Lazy

damn gross news.
can you imagine there is such a thing called 'extreme body modification'?
I'm not referring to plastic surgery here. Its more to it. Its inserting, planting metal ball bearings under the skin.

With the help of a visiting Spanish body modification artist, Alexx Ng planted two rows of ball bearings under his skin. He said: "I took mild anaesthetic. But you can still feel the artist cutting, pushing the bits through, separating the channel between tissue and skin. You can feel everything."

And this is slowly gaining favour in Singapore.
nowadays... what is a tattoo eh?

The body of an elderly woman, believed to be in her 70s, was found in a canal in Hougang on Sunday afternoon. A resident in the area notified the police about the grisly discovery at about 2.40pm. Police said they found the body floating along the canal near Block 344, Hougang Avenue 7. It is not known how the woman fell into the canal.

Police said the unidentified lady had curly hair and was wearing a flowery long-sleeved shirt and black long pants. Police are investigating the case and anyone with information can call the hotline at 1800-255-0000.

Singapore's largest sports and recreation centre in Jurong West will host events for the Youth Olympic Games 2010 if the country wins the bid for the inaugural Games. The Games' preliminary football matches will be held at the centre's field. The S$60 million Jurong West Sports and Recreation Centre also promises something for all. The Aquatic Centre has one of the few sheltered Olympic-sized competition pools in Singapore as well as slides and water jets. Cool. Perhaps I'll be soon popping by this place much frequently for my adrenaline rush.

Rainy Day

howdy toAllreaders!

facebook is seriously successful and it got me in too.

but I don't understand why people like to throw a ghost at me, sent a vampire or a mummy after me when I'm already one myself. For the very least, I appreciate those who hugged me.

I realised there are many people out there who are not being recognised for their skills and ability due to no proper paper qualifications. A simple example will be the founder of facebook, a 23 year old Harvard University dropout. Well, thats how people call him. And. oh, Bill Gates is also a Harvard dropout. I guess paper qualifications really doesn't much matter.. at least outside Singapore.

Afternoon Story

State: Contented

This morning after waking up from a nightmare, I was greeted by 2 sunnysides at the
kitchen. Seemed like empress really can sayang walkergal.

Sigh. Luo han guo drink really tastes so good. I guess I haven't make a wasted trip
back AFTER ALL.

Lunch was about 2pm.
Back at home of course must have proper meals.
Empress made wholemeal noodles soup for me. Its been a long while since I last ate something thats cooked by her. Obviously I have to insist that she cook.

Who knows, after that I was greeted by a freshly tossed salad. She really knows how to make me happy. Its been so loong since I last eaten salad. Well. Its always different when people does it for you.

*****

I seriously don't know where to start from. The lecturer of networking really got us into hot soup. I hate him. Revising for the term 1 of this semester for networking is really hard work.

*****

After the wonderful salad, I had a peaceful 2 hours of study. Empress suddenly popped by and left a 125ml bottle of Vitagen on my table. I felt so loved. Its my first vitagen drink since I've returned from my china trip. She actually remembered I like the original flavour. Well. That is her. A woman who can make my blood pressure hit the ceiling and yet by doing such simple things can totally win me over.

*****

Like every story, good things always have to come to an end. The undisturbed moments were short-lived. Every peaceful hope was shattered into millions of bits within a minute. I just have to take it as it comes. Every breath has its moment of uncertainty.. and no finite answers.

Isn't it good sometimes to just live in fantasy and imagination? Pain doesn't seemed to exist there.

My Friday

Here I am..
seated outside my front door.
Waiting for them to be back.
Well. She lost her keys.

*****

State: Sad

Finally the door was opened.
My room doesn't seem to be my room anymore.
Her territories spreaded from living room to her own room and now my room.
Looking at everything.
Its just a matter of time that MIB show up.

*****

The journey on bus 72 just now was really special to me.
Each time I pass by Hougang, sour and sweet memories flood my mind.
The market place, the kopitiam, the traffic junction, the sport complex, the overhead bridge, the long walking route from Holy Innocent's Primary School...
I love this place. It was part of me. Lived there for 16 years.
My childhood started from there.
Still remember vividly the cycling route.. to Punggol Community Centre.
Every saturday, I'll bring dearest yh to the cc for either her ballet class or abacus class. Not to forget the precious 20cents that I saved up just to get the mickey mouse card from the minimart near punggol cc.
I love my previous house. Its really nice. Yet..

*****

It has been my dream to go for night cycling.
argh. why is it that the cough came from all timings.
People... get me along next time for night activities.

*****

The kitchen basin was again with unwashed dishes.
I can't understand why people like to leave oily food dishes in the kitchen basin for overnight? Doesn't people understand that this will stink up the kitchen? Its not that there is food stucked on the pot bottom that you got to leave it there to soak in water so the pots can be cleaned easily. harlow? no food stuck. Just an oily claypot from mutton curry. And THIS can STINK. Do you people get it?

argh.
Each time I come back. Each time I faced the same thing.
Its a no wonder that empress said that due to me living independently for a certain period of time, I became too 'clean' and my standards of housekeeping can never be implemented in my own home.

*****

I want to walk through life myself instead of being dragged through it.

Yesterday

Okay people, I have to confess that Horikita Maki is really cute. Here's one of her during September. Cool.

*****

State: Hungrily Tired

Yesterday I had lunch! wow. isn't it big news? Haha. Well. WalkerGal don't take lunches. For sake of gatherings, why not. It was held at Canteen 4. The place was sooo new.. to me. I've never been there before.

Met up with 3 business gals. Great to see them. Meeting them brought me back to realise that I'm still human. Am I? oh well. Haven't been eating much. oh. I made a new friend! Her name is called Wendy.

*****
After lunch was straight project meeting for me.
The weather wasn't quite forgiving.
Beads of sweat rained down my back profusely.
With my big bag on my back, one might think that I'm running away from home.
Pathetically, there ain't any seats outside!
eh. Nothing is gonna stop WalkerGal from getting a place for meeting.
Went straight into LWN library.
Up the level and there you go, the most packed place, the most impossible place, WalkerGal found her table.

After meeting 1, assignment Veno was completed. Next, meeting 2.
Time passed like nobody's business.
Finally we came to a conclusion and all assignments for creepto has come to a closure.
Great people with responsible brains. I like it.

*****

The day came to an end after last class 2130 .
Back to my comfy shell.
Dunno what's wrong with tummy. Super pain and after a long wait, it was out.
Straight after a good bath, more serious work on hand.
Cleared 2 lectures. Time? Already 0100 plus.
Goodness.

Hit the blankets. Let tomorrow issues be taken cared by tomorrow.

Random Bytes

Can someone invent a super pill that can cure cough in 10 seconds? I'll pay $10 for that pill. No? Not enough eh? Make it $20 then.

I've been having an illness lately. It is quite popular and its known as Cough. Because of that I haven't been able to touch fruits and its killing me. So. Finally today I've decided to start on tomatos. Nope, I'm not referring to cherry tomatoes but the big ones. I eat them raw. Gross? Not a bit to me at least. I realised that there's a proper way to eat it.

First you bite into it, then you give it a good suck. Eh, if you do it wrongly its gonna be disaster. I just realised its just like eating my sunnyside up.

*****

Chatting with roomie just now about cooking... then it branched about the times during overseas exchange in Beijing. How I ate from roadside stalls and nothing happen. I miss those days.

Recalling the beginning when housemates and I first cooked. We bought the wrong rice and ended up cooking fried glutinous rice! Everyone was damn hungry by then. Hahaha.. Those days. From the buying of a kettle. The pans and woks. The bowls. We got nothing much to start with. Just a long kitchen.

The faulty washing machine.. Then new washing machine couldn't fit in.
The short circuit that made us bathed in darkness or in torch. Hahaha..
The times when suddenly no more water.

The entire household is really a bunch of lovable gals. Every single one of them. Very humorous and cheeky bunch. oh boy.. I miss staying with them. Hahaha.. they really can make me laugh in times of sadness, boredom.

Beijing. A place of my facinations and joy.

News Over News

MP for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC Charles Chong brought some humour to the chamber on Tuesday when he pointed out the gender bias in some sections of the Penal Code, where the offences applied only to the men.

He called for these sections to be updated. It is currently an offence for a man to entice a married woman away from her husband. Mr Chong said: "However, a woman who entices a married man away from his wife, which I think is more often the case, committed no crime. "Perhaps she might have earned a bad reputation, but she is not guilty of any offence under the Penal Code."

Well well. You think its possible to remove 100% of gender bias? Comeon. It is a plain clear fact that there is no equality between a man and a woman. So. What is there to talk about?

Biasness is widely implemented thoughout everywhere. From a minute unit of a household family, to a huge corporation, up to an actual country. It is part of life. If you can't possibly remove it, then don't even think about going into the specific parts such as gender bias. That will sure to put a spark into gender bias argument in many areas right in Singapore. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want that to happen.

I must say that the debating topics have been really interesting. It's a no wonder that got me following close to the news. Hur..

The journey is scheduled for 100 days, and he will travel through major cities in Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia, before finally ending in Singapore in late January 2008.

"I have been to many beautiful places in the world – South Pole, North Pole, Everest... and one doesn't have to go very far nowadays to read about glaciers melting and all that," he explained. "I think it's (a cause) very close to my heart because these are beautiful places. We should try to preserve them for our children."

Surprisingly, Khoo could not skate well a year ago. For this trip, he hired a coach to teach him the sport for nine months. The adventurer, who also attempted Mt. Everest without aid of oxygen tanks on his second climb, claims he loves challenges, and sees the process of learning an unfamiliar sport a great part of the adventure itself.

"I think the over-riding motivation is that life is really short. You're only young once and you've only got one shot. So just try and do it, if not when you're old, you will have lots of regret."

Wow. Mister. I admire you!! Awesomely cool. Your focus and courage is truely something that we can all learn from. Yes. Life is really short.. I'm only young once. Only get to experience this 2007 once. I've only one shot. So I'll try my best to do it. I don't wanna live a life of regrets.

Beijing News

China on Wednesday launched its first lunar orbiter in an event broadcast on national television, with the mission a key step in the nation's plans to put a man on the moon by 2020. The lunar orbiter took off around 6:05 pm local time (1005 GMT) from a launch centre in southwestern China's Sichuan province for what is slated to be a one-year expedition to explore and map the moon.

This launch comes after Japan last month launched its first lunar probe and ahead of a planned similar mission by India next year. In the months leading up to the launch, one of the chief scientists in China's moon programme, Ouyang Ziyuan, also pointed to the broader message a successful mission would send to the Chinese people and the world. "As lunar exploration embodies our overall national strength, it is very significant for raising our international prestige and our national unity," Ouyang told the ruling Communist Party's mouthpiece, the People's Daily.

Ahh. Oh. Did I mention? The lunar orbiter that China had launched is named Chang'e I (Chang' Er). It is named after a Chinese fairy who flew to the moon. Well. Hurhur.. I had a good laugh when I read that. Hehe.. Truely tickled me. But hey.. I'm very proud to be a Chinese. Sorry if you don't like Chinese.. You can press Alt - F4 to exit from here.

Taipei News

Taiwan's ruling party kicked off an intensive campaign to win public support for the island's bid to join the United Nations, despite stern warnings from Washington and Beijing. The round-island marathon aims to garner support for Taiwan's application for United Nations membership under the name 'Taiwan'. This is seen by mainland China as yet another move toward independence by President Chen.

"Using the name 'Taiwan' to enter UN is not only the wish of Taiwan people, it is also a display of sovereignty. Taiwan was never a province of PRC. We are separate from the mainland," said President Chen.

Sigh. WELL. When will there be a stop? Forget it. I'm not keen to know when. But I hope I'll have a chance to explore Taiwan one day.

London News

Users of the popular social networking website Facebook were warned on Wednesday that they were putting themselves at risk of identity fraud by posting even a handful of their details online. According to the BBC's consumer rights television programme Watchdog, set to air later Wednesday, fraudsters could open bank accounts and receive credit cards armed simply with the information found on a user's Facebook page.

"A lot of people using Facebook are trying to increase the size of their network and want to have as many friends as possible -- to the point where they'll befriend people they don't even know," a programme spokeswoman said. Facebook claims that some 200,000 people sign up to Facebook every day, and the site has more than 42 million members -- it decided last month to publicly list its members' profiles on search engines such as Google and Yahoo!, unless a user actively opts out of the scheme.

Hey people. I hope you all know how vulnerable is the Internet. You ought to know anything you put online, should be safe enough that its just sufficient for friends. Please do not anyhow click to accept friend requests. You could just be the next easy preyed on victim.

As a rule of thumb, always make sure you don't disclose your personal information online unless you really don't mind letting people know. Well-taken risks is always truely admired but senseless thoughts is stupidity.

State: Very Tired

Guess what?

WalkerGal just heard from the radio station about the latest news on Section 377A. Well. After hearing from Uncle Lee.. I guess he is doing his best for the welfare and happiness of his people from all walks of life.. I believe that he wish that all will be happy with their personal lives and sexual activities and work well for a good future towards the country's stability, security, economy and everything.. but not to the extent of allowing Singapore to be viewed as a country that is termed 'homo'. For that, I respect him. He is trying his best to protect the reputation of Singapore.. to strike the right balance with everyone. With his explanations, I can understand why Section 377 is abolished instead of Section 377A.

I guess for now, it clearly shows one thing. People, you can fool around all you want. Either the Man or the Woman, is free to try out whatever you want. Just keep the divorce rates at a moderate rate and not make Singapore top any charts of bad reputation. Heterosexuals, Homosexuals, Metrosexuals.. etc, do whatever you want but don't get caught. Afterall, Ah Beng would rather prefer to be well known for his honesty than to be known for his actions in bullying people right?

Well of course. One can easily add in now that in keeping Section 377A, it might just mean that the education opportunities to promote tolerance and diversity is once again sealed. Too bad then. Singaporeans just got to.. learn through things in other ways then.

*****

I went downstairs to top up my supply of milk this morning and to my surprise, I got a free glass that came with my milk. The damn interesting printings on the glass said the following:

There's no need to count sheep.
Just drink milk, for a deep beauty sleep.

*****

Oh. Did I mention before? I've tasted rabbit before. Heh heh... Please don't kill me because of that.. I didn't kill the rabbit.. I merely ate it by accident. I thought it was chicken. And may I add? It was when I was in Beijing. :)

Whatever doesn't kill me, has only made me stronger.

The Radio-station I Heart

Listening from Class 95FM. It has been my choice always. Here's a song specially dedicated to my besty..

Christina Aguilera - I Turn to You
This is lyrics from http://www.lyrics007.com/

When I'm lost in the rain
In your eyes I know I'll find the light to light my way.
And when I'm scared and losing ground;
When my world is going crazy, you can turn it all around.

And when I'm down you're there; pushing me to the top.
You're always there; giving me all you've got.

For a shield from the storm;
For a friend; for a love
To keep me safe and warm,
I turn to you.
For the strength to be strong;
For the will to carry on;
For everything you do;
For everything that's true,
I turn to you.

When I lose my will to win,
I just reach for you and I can reach the sky again.
I can do anything,
'Cause your love is so amazing; 'cause your love inspires me.

And when I need a friend, you're always on my side;
Giving me faith that gets me through the night.

For a shield from the storm;
For a friend; for a love
To keep me safe and warm,
I turn to you.
For the strength to be strong;
For the will to carry on;
For everything you do;
For everything that's true,
I turn to you.

For the arms to be my shelter through all the rain;
For truth that will never change;
For someone to lean on; for a heart I can rely on through anything;
For that one who I can run to....
I turn to you.

For a shield from the storm;
For a friend; for a love
To keep me safe and warm,
I turn to you.

For the strength to be strong;
For the will to carry on;
For everything you do;
For everything that's true,
I turn to you.

For a shield from the storm;
For a friend; for a love
To keep me safe and warm, I turn to you.

For the strength to be strong;
For the will to carry on;
For everything you do;
For everything that's true...
For everything you do;
For everything that's true, I turn to you.

Reading Morning News

Author J.K. Rowling had stunned her fans at Carnegie Hall on Friday night when she answered one young reader's question about Dumbledore by saying that he was gay and had been in love with Grindelwald, whom he had defeated years ago in a bitter fight.

The news brought gasps, then applause at Carnegie Hall, the last stop on Rowling's brief U.S. tour, and set off thousands of e-mails on Potter fan Web sites around the world. Some were dismayed, others indifferent, but most were supportive.

"Jo Rowling calling any Harry Potter character gay would make wonderful strides in tolerance toward homosexuality," Melissa Anelli, webmaster of the fan site
http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/, told The Associated Press. "By dubbing someone so respected, so talented and so kind, as someone who just happens to be also homosexual, she's reinforcing the idea that a person's gayness is not something of which they should be ashamed."

"'DUMBLEDORE IS GAY' is quite a headline to stumble upon on a Friday evening, and it's certainly not what I expected," added Potter fan Patrick Ross, of Rutherford, N.J. "(But) a gay character in the most popular series in the world is a big step for Jo Rowling and for gay rights."

As a young man, Dumbledore, brilliant and powerful, had been forced to return home to look after his mentally ill younger sister and younger brother. It was a task he admits to Harry that he resented, because it derailed the bright future he had been looking forward to.

My personal take? I think Gay or No Gay, it makes no difference. People have so many differences and here's just another one. The point here is the person's character and talents we should take note of. This whole saga made many parents there very happy as their children were all engaged in reading. Well. This could also be a good opportunity for early education of human homosexuality. I really wonder if this would be the same in Singapore.

Topic on the Repeal of Section Code 377A.

The laws were refined after consultations with the public and legal sector over a period of two to three years. The changes are aimed at better protecting the more vulnerable in society and to take into account technological advancements and crime trends. Nominated MP Siew Kum Hong submitting a much-publicised petition to repeal Section 377A of the Penal Code that criminalises sex between men.

Presenting his views, Mr Siew said Section 377A is unconstitutional and should be repealed, even though the government has said it will not enforce the law actively. He also spoke against the retention of Section 377A, just because the majority of Singaporeans disapprove of homosexuality. Part of his argument stemmed from the fact that Section 377 will be abolished to legalise private, consensual anal and oral sex between heterosexual adults.

Senior Minister of State for Law and Home Affairs Ho Peng Kee said that public feedback on Section 377A has been emotional, divided and strongly expressed, with the majority calling for its retention. "Whilst homosexuals have a place in society and, in recent years, more social space, repealing Section 377A will be very contentious and may send a wrong signal that the government is encouraging and endorsing the homosexual lifestyle as part of our mainstream way of life."

Well. It seemed the government finds that its ok for to abolish Section 377. If so, does it mean that its ok to have private, consensual anal and oral sex between heterosexual adults? So what kind of signal is this sending across then? People are now more concerned against Section 377A and not Section 377.

I certainly can't see how Section 377 can define anything less gross than Section 377A. It clearly simple. If people can think Section 377A is 'immoral', then Section 377 really isn't much far away from it. This whole argument has been going on and on.. I guess its time to stop? Sometimes.. people should stop hiding behind their moral or religious grounds.

I do see the concern of the worry of parents on how this can indirectly affect the kids upbringing. But get this fact right. Homosexuality is not an illness. It cannot be spread by being near to a gay. Instead of evading this topic, I think that parents can take the responsibility of letting their children know that there are straight (heterosexual) people and there are not-very-straight(homosexual) people, that people do not really have a choice to be hetero or homo sexual.

A person may prefer plainwater to a carbonated drink. Its all part of growing up process. People choose things according to their uniqueness. If the child turns out to be one, at least, he or she won't feel pressured or depress or hopeless just because the surrounding might deem them as freaks. It is certainly not very nice to be looked upon in such manner or feel this way.

I'm merely airing my thoughts on the grounds for the appeal of repealling of Section 377A. If people are dying to retain 377A on the grounds of it being against the order of nature, then perhaps we should all be righteous and fair and restore Section 377.

If you don't know anything about Section 377 or Section 377A, well.. perhaps its time for you to read the news? ChannelNewsAsia.com can be a good start.

Tomato Juice Spill Causes Headaches at LaGuardia.

Hundreds of people stood on long lines after a screening machine malfunctioned at LaGuardia Airport. Apparently the tomato juice spill had resulted in the need to repair one of the passenger screening machines. One of the spokesman said "That's the risk you take when you deal with technology."

Well. The people there obviously didn't see it that way. They think the biggest problem is inefficiency and things should be better. Like things are always easier said than done. When the technology is finally created, many people just hurray and buy it. Nobody give much of a damn of thought to it and when things don't go their way technically, they blame technology.

The News

A 15-year-old girl was found dead in a flat in Marsiling.

This happened last Saturday.

She was announced dead when paramedics arrived.

Stepfather was arrested on spot and no weapons was found on scene.

Apparantly the girl sustained shoulder and neck injuries.
Mummy was from Jilin, China, came to Singapore 5 years ago and got married.

They divorced and she got her girl a step father.

The girl had just completed her PSLE.

Dear readers. How do you feel after reading this news?

E-alert System.

Residents in Nee Soon South have spent the past five months learning what to do in the event of a major crisis, and on Saturday they got the chance to demonstrate their skills in a simulated bomb attack.

As stated clearly on CNA website, more than 100 youths and adults from different races were involved in the exercise. They included students, grassroots leaders and members of religious establishments.

Well. I guess being a Singaporean really got to get use to this: Different Races. The country is certainly very careful in not to have any internal conflicts and it is very important to maintain racial harmony... and religious views.

Well. Quoted from CNA website, Ms Lee Bee Wah, MP of Ang Mo Kio GRC, said: "We have this e-alert system because during emergency, different people may pass different messages and by the time it goes down to the ground it may be distorted. So with this e-alert, we can send out messages through email and to the mobile phone straight away."

Well. Human response. If only Humans view responsiblilties more.

Fine. So Nee Soon South residents get to try out this system. I wonder when will it be implemented in whole Singapore. Haha... It took so many years to get a 179A bus agreement to see to the needs of N-T-U students.

Sales of laptops in region expected to cross 20m units this year.

This was the forecast of IDC Asia Pacific.

Regional demand for personal computers has been up an average of 20 percent this year. Propelling the surge are laptops, with a 60 percent on year spike. The growth is being driven by demand from the retail end. Mr Bryan Ma, Director, Personal Systems, IDC Asia-Pacific commented, "You would think a desktop would be really cheap and affordable but we're seeing especially in emerging markets in the SEA region...you've got users that are going to jump into a notebook because it's sexy and cool."

Sales for Hewlett Packard and Dell trail behind Lenovo, which continues to be the top PC seller in the region. In the third quarter, PC sales in Singapore saw a 20 percent on-year jump.

Well. I'm a proud owner of a Lenovo too. But I guess the key thing here is due to a demand for conveniency? Why?

There are more degree holders out in Singapore streets these days. With everyone going to universities, the environment, people, expectations and everything has its own influences. I wouldn't have gotten my lappie if not for my need for it overseas. Can't expect me to lug a personal computer to and fro isn't it? Its impractical.

Hence, a majority of proper demands and a minority of people with bits of spare cash in hands, its A no surprise that there's a jump in IT sales.

Nowadays. More people own IT stuff and more victims are out there facing cyber attacks. What's the point of behaving like a high-tech geek on the surface, not knowing what you are using and one day being scorned by what you own? The hacking teams seemed much more busy and hardworking than the cyber security teams. Hahaha.. Its a booming industry man.. better than making babies! May I suggest that those who wants to own IT gadgets, be your own geek. Do some proper readings and spare yourself from unneccessary trouble in future. Please.

Singapore stocks fall sharply on blue chip losses... sigh. I'm not into buying any stocks yet. But I really wonder when and really hoping that the property market will crash soon? Don't strangle me because of that statement. I'm just a human.

The Reminiscing Cold Air Sinks.

ehlo bloggix...
Today has been a looong day.
Weather? Not so good to study.
Very good to sleep. =P
haha.. but I never sleep okay. orange has been a good child.

Just now around 7plus evening, me and roomie went to canteen 1 to buy back dinner to eat in our comfy nest. Hahaha.. Well. It has been a while since we both last walk downstairs together to get dinner. Hurhur.. memories of our year 1 just came into orange's mind. Volleyball trainings in hall.. held usually after 6pm. Those were the days when I started to enforce a proper warmup run for everyone in volleyball... nobody initiated at all the last time.. Haha.. A fun bunch of volleyball gals and boys. The hard trainings I gave to myself.. when people are having breaks during training, I carry on to train up myself.. just to serve a proper ball over the net.. until my arms were badly bruised.. looking exactly like the pig's trotter selling in wet market!

Not just that.. including stage productions.. acting... ahhh from there I have learnt lots of stuff. From a student.. to how to act and talk like a slut.. Next role, how to behave like a successful business woman. Haha.. The eventful thing? The lorry that drove us back from Singapore Repertory Theatre to NTU.. nearly drove into a tree due to the front right tyre had punctured. =.= I was thinking if the driver hadn't swerve the lorry in time.. I wouldn't have live passed 22 years of age.

Then the last min of Inter-Hall games... somebody got ankle injured or something.. so they asked me to run. woo hoo.. the relay team was so strong. Just within a year, I got my certificate of participation in sports, and 2 medals. One gold, another silver. Now just a blink of an eye.. both of us are now in year 4...

The rain became quite mild and this means no need umbrella. Haha..Today's dinner was not very nice.. but no choice. orange needs energy to move.. in her room. =P

Packet rice with 3 different types of vegetables + 1 can of sardines.. from my exam ration.
Speaking of that. Exam is coming real soon. Haha.. my exam welfare package for myself?

3 cans of tuna
3 more cans of sardine
2 Packets of digestive cookies
4 packets of instant oatmeal porridge
3 sticks of instant 3-in-1 coffee
7 muesli bars
20 packets of instant Oatmeal Drink

Oh. Not to forget.. The chilled 3 untouched Hoegarden + 1 mini Choya.. these shall be my post exam vices. ^^

Well. Of course. The above mentioned are my fixed package.. consider it as sunken. (economics) The variables will be my constant supply of fruits and bread. Once in a while, ham is my bonus. Haha!

ah. Headache is growing at a rate of 3 knocks per second...
Pillow.. anyone?

when you are weary.. Don't forget God knows.
when you feel troubled.. Pray to Him.
when you need comforting.. He is around.

Well. How many of you agree with the above?
All these while.. God is around. He has been there before you and orange were borned.
He is always here. He will be also around in future still. Trust in Him. There are just so much that we humans can do. So much.. only.

Why let those things that are beyond your control weigh you down? Why go through all those unnecessary sufferings? Why must there be 'bitten' so many times and yet not learn your lesson well? Take things well in strides. Not to leave things hanging but to leave it in His hands.
How to start doing it?
Pray.

KIDS.

After watching The Nanny Diary.. I felt that its gonna be a big mistake for the kid if he was to kick my leg. Oh man. Super Big OH NO. Did I ever mention before that I like babies and totally dislike those little naughty kids?

Many a times, people only look at what the problem is. After tracing it, you realised.. Big Mistake. The kid is lack of love. Yearns for attention.
Now isn't that who we are?
Even as adults. We are just like little children. Just that we have a little more manners than them. Isn't that so? Hurhur...

*****

Let's just say IF we have manners, Thank God. Many people out there who just simply do things that piss people off.. they could be from that little percentage of having a deprived childhood.. Thats perfectly normal man. Nobody can choose to be born into a well-mannered family or well-to-do family.

But as for those who are born into a good family and yet take for granted for things, worse still, choose a path purposely just to irritate people, good luck to you kid. You better wake up your idea or else you can kiss goodbye to your freedom soon. You won't live long to carry on this kinda living in Singapore. This island is Singapore. Don't drag down others. Get a life.

oh well.. I totally disgusted by certain people nowadays. The younger generation is simply out of control. oh crap. I'm not the least interested in wanting to control them. I would gladly love to put them out of my sight. Let us just cross our fingers and pray hard that they will grow up fast in their mind or that Education can work out some miracle to knock some senses into them.

I wish I can have some Tuna Salad now.
I think I better get some sleep soon.

"Do you know what's better than waking up to a 6AM alarm clock, dashing through the house for work, and then suddenly realizing it's the weekend and you can go back to bed?"

"Having so much fun, with so many friends, laughing so hard, spending, dining, being merry, and suddenly realizing that this time, you're not just visualizing."

"Happens every day."

The Italian

The little boy as the main lead in this show was great. His acting was so real.. so adorable, so independent, daring and intelligent. His wanting to learn how to read, was so desperate such that he guarded his only reading book with his life. Being able to survive in such a harsh environment, from such a young little boy's life, it basically put all our lifestyle and rich desires to shame.

*****

Have you ever thought about how is the life of an orphan?
Sadly to say, not much people would wanna free their time even to think about it.
Is it the society's fault or the people's fault?
Will there be one day when all people can live happily?

*****

How many times in a day do we actually thank God for what He had blessed us for the day?
And how many times do we bear bitterness, grudges against Him when things are not doing well in a day?

Are we not able to see how much He has given us and also not willing to wait patiently for the things we want in life?

I'm am so guilty of this.

Strawberry Milk

Dinner tonight was Strawberry and Milk.
Haha.. Weird combination.
Well. After having excruciating pain at tummy and LS-ed 3 times in a day, one won't feel like touching food.. not to mention strawberries and milk.

Well. No choice. I'm hungry.
Strawberries was surprisingly sour and sweet. Just the way I like it.
Milk obviously can't be sour. -.-

I had always consumed soya milk. But two days ago I just thought that the reason sometimes our body seems strange could be due the fact that we had totally abstined ourselves from certain food (nutrients). As a result, the body can't fully absorb what it needs.
Not trying to say the calcium from soya milk is different from Cow's milk.
oh boy.. why am I here talking about cows?

I finally got my direction (more clear now) on my FYP.
Cool man.
But this just means more work on hand now.
Well, at least I know I can work on WHAT.
This clear away 80% of the headache already.
All thanks to Dale Carnegie, I finally can SEE how life is LIFE when we stop wasting time in worrying and move on!
Hahaha.. GET A LIFE MAN!

Driving is really tricky.
Well, all the circuits and turns.. biting point.. power..
Its definitely a good challenge when one learns MANUAL Driving.
I hope I'm on a good pace. Haha!

This weekend. Its gotta be productive.
If Orange can't do it, it just gonna be a higher mountain to scale next week.
Exercise is a must.
Study is also a must OK.
Driving exams is on 22 Nov.
School exams is consecutively on 28,29,30 Nov.
FYI, there's really not much time left cos everyday I'm still learning new concepts.
Those previously taught concepts must be understood fast else...
In short, if I'm not sure of whatever been taught, I jolly well better get it right soon.

I wish I can have a cold beer now.

The Run

how often do you observe your surrounding when you run?well. haha.. not many people do that. i finally went for a run this evening... after a long week of BREAK. goodness. my body was like 30 years old. ehlo? mind you. I'm still in my early twenties.. this shows one thing. Exercising got to maintain its consistency.

Ahhh. Do you know I just love the smell of the trees? I was practically enjoying this relaxing feeling I felt just now when running along the 199 route. Well, of course.. minus away the pollutants of the vehicles along the way. Well, some might think goodness, how can decomposed leaves smell nice? Hahaha.. Well well well... I dunno, maybe I just like certain smells. It's just ME.

Today's run brought back snap shots of memories... Haha.. Strange isn't it? Perhaps its the timing. I started running around 1840. Today's lesson ended early..well. Not very early, but early enough that I won't be running in night darkness. I basically ended my 40 mins of running by 1920... already it was dark when I completed my run.

I was recalling back to my visit to Hope Foster Home in Beijing, a non-profit, Christian organisation that nurtures abandoned children with born defects back to health. I could still remember every child that I had played with.. especially the little girl whom I had carried and I got carried away. Haha. God is certainly very gracious. I'm very glad that I had made the right decision to help out. At the end of it, its not the painful separation that someone might feel that its too cruel?!?! - I'll never agree to such an absurd statement. But the fact that one had made a significant difference to that particular child. It is certainly more blissful to give than to receive. And being able to make time for it to help out personally, wouldn't it be better for the children there? What they need is not just pampers, milk powder, and toys.. They need love, care and personal touch.

I'm glad I could be there for them. After all, GIP was my choice and its certainly made my trip to Beijing even more meaningful apart from my travels and the food there!

As I continued my run from the 199 route, linking towards the 179 route to School of Biological Sciences, I realised one thing. In the past, I had always yearned to have a running partner, to motivate me in running. Hahaha... now I realised I had been motivating myself to exercise for the past 9 months! It has been so successful until I realised today that hey, I can exercise alone man! Gone were the days when I need an exercising partner. Well, I believe if I can do it in Beijing, I can do it in Singapore. Its afterall, my homeland. hur hur.. Sounding a bit patriotic uh? =P

Hmmm. But come to think of it, when I'm running, I'm never alone. God always on off made me do self reflection. Hahaha... well so many freaking sad experiences, Orange feels immuned.

Let's look at it this way, at the end of the day, even IF you are exercising alone, WHO CARES? The fact that you benefited from it, THIS RULES.

Anyways. Exercising.. The onus is always on self. No one will care for how you look and feel. Ultimately, if you want to feel good about yourself, start from exercising. It makes your heart pumps blood to all parts of the body.. makes you sweat, removing unwanted toxin. Its certainly cheaper than smoking and you get to slim down too.

With a bowl of fresh fish slices soup at the end and adequate hydration after exercise, it is the feeling of I FEEL GOOD that MATTERS.

oh. for xuan, if you happened to SEE this entry, I would like to let you know that the 'oh SO tasty pear' that you simply fell head over heels with, its sold OUTSIDE NTU too. Hahaha.. its korean pears. Just in case you don't believe but you got $3 in cash to splurge on fruits, just take 179 to the interchange. At the alighting platform, you can see many aunties 'leh long' fruits, YES. The pears can be BOUGHT there. Its selling $3 for 4. I had taken the plunge and bought it to CONFIRM my instinct. Hahaha.. now I got 3 kinds of favourite fruits in my fridge now. Hur hur..

Alrights.. Orange will always be Orange.. even though Lemons are good, Orange still prefer Oranges to Lemons. ;)
